1. When are the surfing lessons?

Swansea surf school and Gower surf school, Progress surf Academy run Gower surfing lessons and classes also Swansea surfing lessons and classes in South West Wales for 10 months of the year from March 1st to Dec 24th. During this time we largely operate as and when you want us to, although standard times are 10am 1.30pm 4.00pm. We are open 7 days a week

We're often at the beach during the day. We always return calls within 24 hours

3. Where do we meet for surfing lessons?

We will meet you at the beach, either Caswell or Llangennith beaches. During the summer months we are primarily based at Llangennith for general public bookings.

The after school club is always based at caswell beach.
 
The beaches that we use will vary depending on the surfing and weather conditions in Swansea and Gower on the day of your surfing lesson and surfing classes.

It is best to give us a call the day before your surfing lessons and classes just to confirm which beach we will be using.

4. How do I pay for surf lessons?

Progress Surfing will accept cash/cheque/card payments.

Most of our customers choose to pay online at our payment page

All cheques should be made payable to Progress Surfing

All lessons should be paid for in full at the time of booking

5. What do I bring to surf lessons?

*All you need is your payment/receipt if paid online

*A swimsuit to go under your wetsuit.

*A towel for getting changed

*If you need any medication please make sure you have it with you,
you will be able take it to the beach in our dry bag if you need to.

*Sun cream is a very good idea especially in the summer months so pack that too!

*You would be well advised to bring some water as you may get thirsty and unfortunately you cant drink the sea water!

6. Can I get a receipt for the surf lessons?

YES if you require a receipt we can provide you with one at the beach. 
Customers who have purchased surfing lessons and classes online will receive a receipt automatically via E-mail.
Progress Surf Academy invoices can be provided for Group Leaders.

7. How long are the surf lessons?

A standard first time surfing lesson comprises of a 2 hour lesson where we will take the time to show you the basics and all safety aspects involved on the beach before we hit the water.

Kids only classes and training sessions, surf clinic sessions and 1-2-1 sessions are normally a little shorter in duration at around one and a half hours. We can be flexible on time as far as possible and give extra time in the water on a good will basis.

8. Are there any forms to fill in?

As the nodding dog says "Oh no, no, no, no, no!" in fact there is only one form that needs filling out, a very simple consent form. Every participant needs one and without it you wont be able to surf. Under 18's will need it signed by a parent/guardian.
Consent forms can be sent out to the group leaders prior to to the lesson so they are completed when you arrive!  They are also available to download

9. Can I take things to the beach?

YES you can take small items to the beach we would usually expect customers to take things like; spectacles, extra sun cream, medication drinking water, car keys etc.
We can put these items in a specially designed dry bag and take them to the beach with us.

10. Are there any restrictions on people who can surf?

The only restrictions are that;

*You should be able to swim at least 50m in open water.

*You should not have any medical condition which may effect your ability to partake in a lesson safely if in doubt contact your Doctor or GP.

*You cannot surf if you are pregnant.

*You must at least 8 years or older.

11. Are there facilities at the surfing beaches?

All beaches that we use have facilities including toilets.

Llangennith
Llangennith beach has toilets, a shop , a cafe, and a camp site.
Up the road in Llangennith village there is a Pub and a surf shop also.

Caswell
Caswell beach has cafes, shops, toilets, parking and is life guarded during the summer months.
 
Rhossili
Rhossili beach has shops, toilets, parking and a pub.
